Here are some pictures I've taken to document the construction of HMS Floater, Hornblocker's first ship.
She is built from the brown hull sections of one 6285 and two 6286s, with a lot of brown 2x4s to make the height of the mid sections up to the same height as the bow and stern sections. All of the internal ribbing is brown, but now invisible, as I covered it all with red plates, and there are no splits in the hull at this point :-(
The insides of ships were painted red, so that the blood didn't show. Unfortunately, this means that the sides have to be two studs thick.
The cannons are just there for measurement purposes at the moment. A full set will be installed later. She will have a full complement of 28 18 pounders on the main deck, with a further eight or so 9 pounders on the upper decks, making her a reasonable sized fifth rate frigate
